Effects of Different Ethanol Concentrations on the Morphometric Characteristics of Clarias gariepinus and Oreochromis niloticus

The effects of ethanol (90% and 95% concentration) preservation on the morphometric characteristics Clarias gariepinus Oreochromis niloticus were investigated. characters observed total length, standard head body depth, eye diameter, weight for period sixty-three (63) days. Samples first euthanized before taking after which samples individually preserved in separate bottles filled with respective concentrations 95%) nine weeks (63 days). Morphometric later measured at end 63 days to determine any possible changes. results indicated that varying degree shrinkage was common all both species even though they reacted differently different concentration alcohol. also revealed percentage higher C. than O. 90% concentration.
